Hexagram 13 同人 changing to hexagram 32 恒
Changing lines (counted from the bottom): 1, 2, 5, 6.
What to read
Four changing lines: read the two unchanged lines of the resulting hexagram; the lower one is the main one. (Rule set out by Zhu Xi in the Yixue qimeng.)
The third line, undivided, shows one who does not continuously maintain his virtue. There are those who will impute this to him as a disgrace. However firm he may be, there will be ground for regret.
Hexagram 32 恒, line 4
The fourth line, undivided, shows a field where there is no game.
The two hexagrams
Thung Zăn (or 'Union of men') appears here (as we find it) in the (remote districts of the) country, indicating progress and success. It will be advantageous to cross the great stream. It will be advantageous to maintain the firm correctness of the superior man.
Hăng indicates successful progress and no error (in what it denotes). But the advantage will come from being firm and correct; and movement in any direction whatever will be advantageous.
The changing lines of hexagram 13
| Line | Chinese | Legge |

| The second line, divided, (shows the representative of) the union of men in relation with his kindred. There will be occasion for regret. |
| In the fifth line, undivided, (the representative of) the union of men first wails and cries out, and then laughs. His great host conquers, and he (and the subject of the second line) meet together. |
| The topmost line, undivided, (shows the representative of) the union of men in the suburbs. There will be no occasion for repentance. |
