Changing lines (counted from the bottom): 2, 4, 6.

What to read

Three changing lines: read the judgments of the original and the resulting hexagram; the original is the main one. (Rule set out by Zhu Xi in the Yixue qimeng.)

Judgment of hexagram 60 節

亨。苦節不可貞。

Kieh. intimates that (under its conditions) there will be progress and attainment. (But) if the regulations (which it prescribes) be severe and difficult, they cannot be permanent.

Judgment of hexagram 25 无妄

元亨。利貞。其匪正有眚,不利有攸往。

Wû Wang indicates great progress and success, while there will be advantage in being firm and correct. If (its subject and his action) be not correct, he will fall into errors, and it will not be advantageous for him to move in any direction.

The changing lines of hexagram 60

LineChineseLegge
2不出門庭,凶。The second line, undivided, shows its subject not quitting the courtyard inside his gate. There will be evil.
4安節,亨。The fourth line, divided, shows its subject quietly and naturally (attentive to all) regulations. There will be progress and success.
6苦節,貞凶,悔亡。The topmost line, divided, shows its subject enacting regulations severe and difficult. Even with firmness and correctness there will be evil. But though there will be cause for repentance, it will (by and by) disappear.
